Insulin pump therapy and physical activity

During activity the basal program will be stopped for a maximum of 60 minutes and will go on with a rate flat rate. Usually it is a dose with 30 % of the normal used rate, for example a dose with 0,3 to 0,5 units per hour.  Immediately after the activity, there is a supplementary requirement to cover the lack of insulin. Afterwards the needed amount of insulin  from the body is for the next 10 hours less than usual. Here are the data from a study with this modification scheme.
