Insulin pump therapy and physical activity
During activity the basal program will be stopped for a maximum of 60 minutes and will go on with a rate flat rate. Usually it is a dose with 30 % of the normal used rate, for example a dose with 0,3 to 0,5 units per hour. Immediately after the activity, there is a supplementary requirement to cover the lack of insulin. Afterwards the needed amount of insulin from the body is for the next 10 hours less than usual.
